Statutory Checkups

Noise

The statutory check-up applies to employees exposed to noise that can be harmful. The check-up should be offered as soon as you are hiring – and then at an interval of 1-3 years, depending on the sound levels of the workplace.

This statutory health examination applies to employees who are exposed to noise that can be harmful and meet the requirements of the Swedish Work Environment Authority (AFS 2005:16). The purpose of the hearing examination is to preserve hearing and thus early detect hearing loss due to the working environment.

According to the Guidelines of the Swedish Work Environment Authority, a risk assessment of the workplace must be carried out before the hearing examination.

How it works

  1. The employee is booked for a hearing examination
When you as the manager has ordered the service, your employee is booked for the check-up. The time is communicated in an email to your employee and to you as the orderer.

  2. Visit to an occupational health nurse
During the visit, an occupational health nurse measures the employee's hearing. The measurement takes place in a hearing cage or a quiet room with special headphones.

  3. Feedback and certificate
The occupational health nurse issues a certificate of the hearing examination.
